Introduction: Allyson Velez

Hi everyone my name is Allyson and I am so excited to be a vice chair for WHO! I am a third-year studying public health and public policy so I am super excited to hear all your solutions regarding the issues we face in the world of health today.

This will be my 9th year in MUN and my third year as a chair for BMUN. Aside from BMUN I conduct research for the School of Public Health regarding healthcare accessibility for vulnerable communities such as immigrants in California, children with disabilities, low-income families, etc. After graduation I hope to further pursue health policy at the state, federal, and eventually international level!

Before the pandemic I loved going to the beach, exploring SF, going to concerts, and going on hikes. Now that I spend most of my time indoors/6 feet away from other people I enjoy reading, collecting vinyl records, going on jogs with my dog, and of course wasting hours on end scrolling through TikTok. Enjoy the following picture of me and another BMUN member dressed as bananas at the BMUN dance last year (I am the one with my hands up).
